Keystone Law is delighted to welcome to the firm Liyen McCoy, former General Counsel at Yahoo! UK Ltd. Her arrival brings the number of lawyers in the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) group to 32.

Liyen brings with her a wealth of e-commerce and technology experience. She was General Counsel at Yahoo! UK and sat on the management board of the company. She was charged with all legal and regulatory matters, including the review of product launches and integration of acquired assets, as well as leading key strategic commercial deals. Liyen also served as the company’s Head of European Compliance and was responsible for ongoing legal compliance of their services and for supervision of legal and civil disclosure requests. She was, in addition, a core member of Yahoo! UK’s security task force.

James Knight, Keystone Law Managing Director, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Liyen to the firm. Her vast knowledge of compliance, data and privacy issues will further strengthen our TMT offering, as will her first-hand knowledge of the needs of a TMT company.

Liyen’s arrival is indicative of the quality of lawyers who are attracted to our unique business model, and comes shortly after that of Lawrence Abramson, who joined earlier in the year from Fladgate. Both are senior industry figures and highly respected in their fields.”

Liyen added:

“I am excited to be joining Keystone Law, and working with the firm’s highly experienced TMT lawyers. Keystone’s innovative business model is a perfect fit for the TMT sector, where businesses need their lawyers to be able to work more closely and flexibly with them.”
