Keystone Law supports the V&A on major East London redevelopment scheme

Keystone Law has advised the V&A museum in the redevelopment of a new Cultural and Education District in East London.

The V&A will be opening a new museum at Stratford Waterfront which will feature alongside a 600-seat theatre for Sadler’s Wells and a new campus for UAL’s London College of Fashion are planned to open in East Bank at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This follows the recent announcement from University College London (UCL) on the creation of UCL East – a new university campus which will built on the Park.

East Bank marks the culmination of several years’ work by the LLDC to secure long-term, viable opportunities in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Keystone’s Anthony Misquitta also acts as General Counsel to the V&A and was assisted, with the construction aspects of the project, by fellow Keystone solicitor Ronan Speers.

The redevelopment of East London, led by the LLDC, will help respond to the significant increase in the population with more than two million people now living in the area. It has built new neighbourhoods, business centres and cultural spaces, helping to transform the region into a major destination for culture, sport, local business and education.

Building work is due to start on the site in mid-2019, with building openings scheduled for 2022/23.
