Patrick is a general commercial disputes lawyer and an international arbitration specialist, dually qualified in English and French law.

He represents companies, high-net-worth individuals and states from across the globe in commercial arbitration (under well-known arbitration rules such as ICC, LCIA, VIAC, SCC, AAA, UNCITRAL, LMAA, and ICA), as well as in investor-state disputes. Patrick acts as counsel and sits as an arbitrator.

Patrick also regularly handles general commercial litigation before the English courts.

Patrick has developed extensive experience in disputes relating to investments in emerging markets (especially in Africa, the CIS and Asia) and specific expertise in matters involving states or state entities. His industry specialisms include Energy and Natural Resources, Technology Media & Telecoms, Commodities, Finance and Shipping. In recent years he has also been handling an increasing number of disputes relating to commercial fraud and works of art.

His knowledge and interest in the field of international arbitration led Patrick to assist a North Atlantic state with the drafting of an international commercial arbitration statute, as well as to initiate and co-found the first International Disputes Resolution LLM in the English language in Germany at Humboldt University (Berlin) where he lectured on investment treaty disputes.
