Brian is an experienced lawyer who specialises in all aspects of Construction, Engineering and Procurement law. He acts for developers, institutions, contractors, funders and construction consultants. He is admitted to practise in both the UK and Hong Kong and has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, including as a civil engineer on large-scale public-/private-sector projects prior to becoming a lawyer.
Brian has particular expertise in advising on contracting strategy and dispute avoidance under the NEC3, PPC and JCT forms of contract along with bespoke EPC, FIDIC, IChemE, MF/1, development and framework agreements.
He is known for his work in the private development sector (commercial and residential) as well as helping to deliver major infrastructure projects for central and local government, NHS Trusts and renewable energy developers.
Brian also provides training on contracting strategy to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Institution of Civil Engineers in addition to delivering bespoke seminars on construction procurement for the Ministry of Justice and several local authorities. He has also been involved with the production of briefing documentation for the supply chain at Hinkley Point C.
