James McIntosh, Keystone Law client and longtime champion of British food received recognition at the Farmers Weekly Magazine Awards at the Park Lane Grosvenor Hotel for his TV series in China.
Lord Coe presented the accolade, and James was acknowledged for his work as a British Food Ambassador and world award-winning cookbook writer.
As a food ambassador, James is now introducing the best of British food and products to markets which are amongst the most difficult to access. Most recently he has been in China for a ground-breaking cookery series, introducing western cooking ideas, methods and ingredients to a whole new audience. As a result of his popularity on this series, he was invited to represent the UK in China for an international culinary competition, cooking live at the Bird’s Nest Stadium and appearing on China’s most popular television programme, ‘Day Day Up‘ viewed by an audience of 100 million.
The Chinese television series in which he and two other top international chefs travelled and cooked along the Silk Road was awarded first prize for Outstanding Digital Radio and TV Programs in China (the first time for a westerner), with a book accompanying the series published in both English and Chinese.
Currently James is working closely with AGA Rangemaster to Launch AGA in China. His knowledge of eating habits and Chinese home life is being utilised by many manufacturers looking to the Chinese market.
James McIntosh, the son of a farmer and a home economics teacher, said, "Sitting at the top table with James Martin, lords, MP’s, and members of staff from the Royal household it was rather something," commented James. Food "from farm to fork" is all James has ever known as from an early age he was taught to appreciate the importance of fresh produce and the value of sharing regular meals with the family.
